Open Sources Show Notes for Thursday December 13, 2018

As a holiday treat, this episode of Open Sources Guelph is going to try an avoid any discussion about our old friends Don and Doug. For the first half of the sow, we’re going to aim for an international flavor by talking about the wave of protests in Paris the last month, and the fact that there seems to be no way out for Brexit. Closer to home, we’ll talk about advocating for a local detox centre, and the always fascinating topic of censorship… of Christmas songs. Continue reading

Open Sources Show Notes for Thursday November 22, 2018

This Open Sources Guelph is going to be a dire one. We’re going to talk about Brexit, which is going about as well as everyone expected. We’re going to talk about sex abuse, which seemed to have been baked into the culture of a prestigious Toronto school. Open Sources Show Notes for Thursday July 12, 2018

Look up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a balloon shaped like the President of the United States as a baby, and it’s going to fly over London in honour of his visit to the United Kingdom! We’re going to try and stay grounded on this week’s Open Sources Guelph, but we’ll still be looking over matters provincially and globally on this edition of the show. We’ll check on the Throne Speech here in Ontario, consider our own border issues here in Canada, and then go international with the man who inspired the balloon, and the internal political strife of one of the places he’s visiting. Open Sources Show Notes for Thursday June 15, 2017

This week on Open Sources Guelph, Anarchy in the U.K.! Moments after the show ended last week, the returns in the U.K.’s snap election started coming in, and they were surprising. We’ll break down the results and what it means for Brexit, the young people who were against it and the old people that have forgotten they were for it. We’ll also talk about *why* you might have to celebrate Canada 150 sober, why you can now blaspheme to your heart’s content, and maybe why Ontario should have just one Board of Education.  Continue reading

Open Sources Show Notes for Thursday June 8, 2017

This week on Open Sources Guelph we go around the world! Not literally, of course, and mostly in North America and the U.K., but what we’re saying is that there are world wide implications. From someone that might be the Prime Minister of Canada if he can get his party’s leadership, to a contest to determine who the leader of the United Kingdom will be, to a guy once called the “Leader of the Free World” but seems not even remotely interested in being a leader in his own house. Politics, elections, the environment and terror are all on the docket for this week’s show.  Continue reading
