This week’s Open Sources Guelph takes us on a journey to a mysterious and forbidden land just down the 401: Toronto. One weekend had both reason for celebration and reason for concern, as Pride festivities were overshadowed by more news that seems to say that the city may be a little less safer than normal due to all the gun violence. Of course, Pride highlighted some concerns of its own, and that’s something else we’ll dig into this week. But that’s not the end of the excitement! Along with the news this week, we’ll welcome back to the show Guelph’s next Member of Provincial Parliament, who, as you might have heard, made some history. Open Sources Show Notes for Thursday June 21, 2018

This week on Open Sources Guelph, we’re going to try and not make the children cry, but it will be hard. We’ll discuss the latest from the humanitarian crisis south of the border, which is stressful enough to make you want to take a puff of the wacky tobaccy. That will have to wait a few more months here in Canada, but if there’s one thing you won’t have to wait for, it’s the new Ontario government undoing the work of the last one. It’s back to normal this week on Open Sources Guelph! While the election (one election) is over and done with, there’s still a lot to dissect after Thursday’s vote, and we will dissect all those details on multiple levels be they local, regional and provincial. And since the election has forced us to take a break from U.S. stuff for a while, we’ll check back in with our orange friend south of the border, who has now started mixing it up with Justin Trudeau, and just before he tried to see if he can make a new friend in North Korea.
