Open Sources Show Notes for Thursday March 28, 2019

This week on Open Sources Guelph many of our ongoing stories lines come to a head, but it’s not exactly the end of the story. We’ll look at the questions that still linger even though the Mueller Report has been delivered. We’ll cover the beginning of the Alberta election, which might be the end of one brief dynasty. Abroad, we’ll look at the exit that didn’t happen, but still might, and then a candidate in Israel’s election seems to be depending on some of that foreign interference. Continue reading

Open Sources Show Notes for Thursday March 14, 2019

This week on Open Sources Guelph, we play catch-up, and man, there is a lot of news out there, so we have to take our hour this week and cover all points. We’re going to start in Ottawa where the SNC Lavalin affair has gone on simmer, but there are other controversies. Then it’s off to Ontario and Alberta to look at the provincial political situation. And the last stop, of course, is Washington D.C. where things got very litigious for the President’s former friends. Continue reading

Open Sources Show Notes for Thursday February 8, 2018

What an exciting time to be in political-centric radio! This week on Open Sources Guelph, there’s is so much friction to observe and report on, and we begin with the emergency leadership race of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, who are being asked to choose between two talented and accomplished women, and Doug Ford. Also, we’ll talk about how the shiny happy future of NDP leadership might actually be tearing the country apart (in parts). Continue reading

This week on Open Sources Guelph, we take a break from American politics to talk about American justice and how that’s affecting American politics. We’ll also enjoy a laugh at the expense of a media/government slap fight no one was prepared for, and offer our two cents on local infrastructure priorities. Continue reading

It’s legal trouble and potential legal trouble on this week’s Open Sources Guelph. Not against us (hopefully), but the defendants include a colourful cabaret of characters including the City of Hamilton, nearly a dozen misguided Montreal teens and perennial defendant Omar Khadr. Meanwhile, one wonders if we might soon see former members of the Progressive Conservative government in legal trouble since they’ve been having shredders work overtime at the Edmonton Legislature when the voters decided to hand the keys over to the NDP. One might say the old guard was flipping the bird to oversight, though fortunately for them they didn’t post it on Facebook. Continue reading

This week on Open Sources Guelph, Hell freezes over! Not really, but it did feel like a week where the impossible happened as the election results came back in Alberta. Meanwhile, it looks like Omar Khadr might finally get out of prisoner, but not if anyone in the federal government has anything to say about it. Same goes for parents rallying against changes to the sex ed in Ontario as that debates heats up all over again. And that brings us to a unique event in Garland Texas that seemed tailor-made to antagonizer and ended up doing just that. What a week! Let’s talk about it. Continue reading
