Comey Who? We’ve got a lot of Canadian stuff on our plate this week on Open Sources Guelph, so Donald Trump can go about his shady business without our discerning eye. In the meantime, we’ve got two big interviews in the form of another NDP leadership candidate and one of Guelph’s city councillors, and then we’ll be looking at the results of the B.C. Open Sources Show Notes for Thursday March 9, 2017

In order to reaffirm that there’s a world of politics beyond whatever zaniness that comes out of the Twitter feed of the President of the United States, this week’s Open Sources Guelph is proudly Trump-Free. So what will we talk about instead? Well, there are two federal leadership races in progress here in Canada, and the left-wing one has finally decided to make it an actual election by having more than one guy throw his hat into the ring. Then, in the back half of the show, we’ll look at the growing trend of hate here in Canada, one form that the government’s getting blowback for trying to do something about, and another that the government is considering taking action on.  Continue reading

Open Sources Show Notes for Thursday June 9, 2016

Let’s talk elections this week. Who’s running them, who’s taking part in them, and how some people want to change them. This week on Open Sources Guelph, we will dive back into the U.S. Presidential Election, not for the last time, to talk about the end of the primary process, but maybe we should rename this segment “What stupid thing has Trump said now?” Meanwhile, a key Canadian political figure threw her support behind one of Mr. Trump’s rivals, while the federal government continues to dawdle about our own electoral reform ambitions. And in the end, we’ll discuss the Toronto by-election, where one good Ford might fill the shoes of another. Continue reading
