Open Sources Guelph is back live and on air this week, and we’re back to deal with not just the news, but some of the biggest social shifts of our times. Here in Canada, First Nations and racism is back in the headlines as a court verdict shed a ghastly light on what the lives of our Indigenous youths may be worth. Meanwhile, talk of harassment in the political sphere put the ball back in Patrick Brown’s court, while south of the border Americans confront their president’s own apparent misogyny. Open Sources Show Notes for Thursday January 11, 2018

We’re back! After a holiday break, Open Sources Guelph returns for its epic fourth year of practical news discussion and interviews with local newsmakers. There’s none of the latter this week, but we’ve got plenty of the former. Read any good books lately? Well, we hear there’s one about a certain American administration. Also, it turns out that Trudeau might have been palling around with terrorists after all (in a manner), for some reason people are angry about a pay raise for the people making the least, and people out in the cold are still getting the cold shoulder. Open Sources Show Notes for Thursday December 7, 2017

There’s some big trouble brewing on this week’s Open Sources Guelph. No, no one on this show has broken the law, but someone that was once in the Trump administration sure did! How about the Trudeau government, anyone breaking the law there? Maybe not, but that doesn’t mean the opposition isn’t kicking up some kind of fuss. There are no easy answers on this week’s Open Sources Guelph. The year 2017 will likely go down as the one where everything changed for women in the workplace, and the allegations keep coming in against more and more powerful men, and we’ll talk about the latest on the political side of things. Also, college students are finally back at school, but the real question is what have they lost? We see again that these vaunted pipeline projects also lose, even if they win, and people in Toronto are wondering if they’ve gained something by getting rid of traffic from a key section of King Street. It’s time for another week of fun and adventure here on Open Sources Guelph, and by “fun” and “adventure”, we mean concern and insanity. Back in the U.S., the president decided that he’s had enough of international diplomacy no matter how well it’s working. Meanwhile, in Calgary, the voters there have decided that they like their current municipal leadership just fine, thank you. But there is cause for concern. Open Sources Show Notes for Thursday October 5, 2017

This calls for a celebration! That seems to be the news this week on Open Sources Guelph, because, as they say, every dark cloud has a silver lining. That dark cloud includes some violence in Spain over a vote of independence by one of the regions there, and the pitiful reaction of the U.S. government to recovery efforts in Puerto Rico. The silver lining? How about the fact that a federal party elected a visible minority as its new leader? Or the fact that the electoral reform fight is far from over?
