Open Sources (Ep. #589) Show Notes for October 8, 2026

This week on Open Sources Guelph, it’s mayor time! For the last several weeks we’ve been talking to the people that want to be a part of the next city council and now we start digging into the people that want to be the head of that council, the Mayor of Guelph. To kick things off, we’re joined by two new arrivals on the political scene, one a former teacher with a very universal message and the other a businessman with some big ideas!

This Thursday, October 8, at 5 pm, Scotty Hertz and Adam A. Donaldson will discuss:

The Sign Guy. You may know Ryan Meunier as “The Sign Guy”, taking space in the Ward with his homemade sign expressing his concerns about rapidly increasing property tax rates. Perhaps it was inevitable that he would seek an elected office, and the office he settled on was that of the mayor. In this interview, Meunier will talk about why he’s fighting for common sense and the prosperity of all Guelph families, and why he’s going off-brand with a sign-less campaign.

Rajee Against the Machine. Local businessman and realtor Rajee Sinha has a simple idea for tackling some of the pressing problems facing Guelph: Think outside the box. Sinha wants to bring a businessman’s perspective to the mayor’s office, not by looking at service cuts, but by looking for new ways to raise revenue, and in this interview, we will tell Open Sources about a few of those ideas and how he will defeat institutional gridlock to make it happen.

Open Sources is live on CFRU 93.3 fm and cfru.ca at 5 pm on Thursday.
