This week on Open Sources Guelph, it’s a jam-packed news week, and there’s a lot of ground to cover. In Ottawa, the government is trying to avoid an election, but the truth is that everybody wants to avoid an election because the number of COVID cases are going up at alarming rates again. And speaking of elections, a new wrench was thrown into the U.S. Election, and since that looks like its so much fun, the Premier of B.C. seems to have decided he’d like to see an election too. The passing of a man known to be the most passionate and articulate right-wing voice on the bench has added napalm to the crazy fire already burning in this wacko campaign south of the border, so let’s focus on Sunny Ways up north here and how they might be coming to end. We’ll also enjoy a laugh at the expense of a media/government slap fight no one was prepared for, and offer our two cents on local infrastructure priorities. Happy Canada Day, boys and girls! Let’s talk about Greece, and the United States. This week’s episode of Open Sources Guelph will take you abroad to sunny Greece, home of democracy and home to the first developed country to ever default on its IMF loans. Then we’ll go back to the U.S. of A. to bask in a rainbow of openness and [some] bigotry. Back here in Canada, we’ll look into the merits of making the wallets of those earning minimum wage thicker, and we’ll check in on what’s turning into the election that will never end (and it hasn’t even really started yet).
