This week on Open Sources Guelph, just in time for the last weekend of summer, we’re taking a trip. We join our prime minister as he’s taking the world by storm, or at least parts of Europe anyway, and then we’re heading to Gaza again where nobody is taking a vacation because the war continues and its costing more lives. The stakes aren’t as dire closer to home, but there’s controversy up the road in Wasaga Beach that we need to discuss. Continue reading “Open Sources (Ep. #532) Show Notes for August 28, 2025”

Open Sources (Ep. #531) Show Notes for August 21, 2025
This week on Open Sources Guelph, we’re back! After taking a midsummer break, we come back with some of your favourite characters from this past season including the buffoonish U.S. President, and our oafish Ontario Premier, and in the third topic, just in time for Labour Day, we’ll have some genuine labour news to get excited about! We might have taken some time off for the last couple of weeks, but the new sure didn’t!! Continue reading “Open Sources (Ep. #531) Show Notes for August 21, 2025”
Open Sources (Ep. #524) Show Notes for June 19, 2025
This week on Open Sources Guelph, we’re trying to keep all our paper’s straight. Once again, it was a busy news week as the world came to Canada, or at least the heads of the biggest and most powerful countries did. Also, we get to talk about a new war, apparently because we’ve run out of things to say about the old wars while closer to home, we’ll go back to the Quatro and talk to a member of city council from the west end of the city. Continue reading “Open Sources (Ep. #524) Show Notes for June 19, 2025”
Open Sources (Ep. #508) Show Notes for March 6, 2025
This week on Open Sources Guelph, we’re coming down from election fever, and maybe get ready to catch it once again…(?) Yes, the time has come for a new Liberal leader to be selected, which is its own drama, but nothing compared to the drama in the White House, which is exactly how its main occupant likes it (and the rest of us hate). For the interview this week, we’ve got a two-for-one special! Continue reading “Open Sources (Ep. #508) Show Notes for March 6, 2025”
Open Sources (Ep. #481) Show Notes for August 22, 2024
This week on Open Sources Guelph, we’re back! We’re done with our usual summer vacation and we’re eager to hop back on the never ending news cycle to talk about all things breaking and unbreaking. Here in Ontario, there was a big meeting of all the municipalities this week in Ottawa, and abroad in eastern Europe there was a big move in the war happening there. For the interview this week, we’re also talking about a big move, a move that someone’s trying to make happen right here at home. Continue reading “Open Sources (Ep. #481) Show Notes for August 22, 2024”
Open Sources (Ep. #443) Show Notes for September 28, 2023
This week on Open Sources Guelph, it all just blew up! It was kind of cruel last week when Ontario’s premier came out and apologized for a two-month old scandal on show day, but it was well-timed for the start of the fall session, which we will talk about on this show. In other news, Parliament Hill was not to be outdone in controversy and if you have “100-year-old Nazi” on your Bingo card, we’ve got good news. And finally, did you know there’s an election in Manitoba right now? Continue reading “Open Sources (Ep. #443) Show Notes for September 28, 2023”
Open Sources (Ep. #408) Show Notes for January 5, 2023
This week on Open Sources Guelph we’re back at work! That was a nice holiday break but the news doesn’t stop, even though we do (for a time). So on this show, we’re catching up with the crazy politics of the United States, which did not take a holiday break, and we will catch up with the War in Ukraine because there was no holiday break there either. For the interview this week, we will finish up our round of interviews with the new city councillors by chatting with the new guy representing Ward 6. Continue reading “Open Sources (Ep. #408) Show Notes for January 5, 2023”
