Open Sources (Ep. #447) Show Notes for October 26, 2023

This week on Open Sources Guelph, we realize that it’s always darkest just before Halloween. At least that’s what it seems like when we open social media or a news app on our phone. We’ve got a full slate of political news for you from the latest in the Middle East and the frontlines in Israel to the battle lines in Queen’s Park. And then, we go to Saskatchewan where there was some constitutional experimentation, and speaking of experimenting, might Guelph be flirting with the blue team?! Open Sources (Ep. #446) Show Notes for October 19, 2023

This week on Open Sources Guelph, it’s a kind of rerun. On the one hand, there’s still violence in the Middle East and it seems to be getting worse despite the interventions of foreign leaders and aid agencies. On the other hand we’ve got a great big new convoy, except it might not be as big as the previous one, but it’s still kind of annoying. And then, on our hidden third hand, we will talk about local stuff with a member of city council and how that might impact your wallet. Open Sources (Ep. #433) Show Notes for July 6, 2023

This week on Open Sources Guelph, the weather is hot, and so are the topics! It’s an all news show this week as we look to some international news that happened in own backyard, and some international news that happened in France but has a very familiar tone to it. In news from across Canada, we’ll talk about the problem with News Brunswick, or its premier at least, and why your favourite leader of His Majesty’s loyal opposition is changing things up, for the better(?). Open Sources (Ep. #429) Show Notes for June 8, 2023

This week on Open Sources Guelph, all we’ve got are the issues. In this jam-packed news week, we will head to Toronto where some renters have had enough of being held upside-down and shaken till their pennies fall out, and speaking of accommodation, we have to talk about the new digs for Canada’s most well-known prisoner. In the back half of the show we’re looking at bigotry, the type being suffered by our LGBTQ+ friends and the type being perpetuated some some religious extremists. Open Sources (Ep. #425) Show Notes for May 11, 2023

This week’s Open Sources Guelph is a down affair. What else can you say when China is making trouble again for Canadian politicians, and when things are getting so bad that making Canadians pay extra for the “privilege” of watching Fox News just isn’t enough anymore. And if these two topics aren’t a big enough bummer, we’re going to round out the show with some discussion about animal abuse for human amusement. Sadly, it’s just another Thursday in this timeline.
