Open Sources (Ep. #505) Show Notes for February 6, 2025

This week on Open Sources Guelph, we’re trying to project calm. It was a long weekend as we waited for a certain Florida Man who was inexplicably re-elected as President of the United States to blow up our economy, and we can’t even avail ourselves of healthcare because that’s in a terrible position in Ontario. So, what can we do to fix this? Our guest this week has some ideas and he wants you to elect him again to put them in action! Open Sources (Ep. #412) Show Notes for February 9, 2023

This week on Open Sources Guelph, we look up. We look northeast-ward to Ottawa to see if there might finally be a new healthcare deal between levels of government, and then we look to the sky for more Chinese spy balloons because that’s a thing now. After that, we go back to Ottawa to revisit the fallout from the “Freedom Convoy” exactly one year ago, and specifically the effect on the people living there, which has now been documented in a convenient new report. Open Sources (Ep. #410) Show Notes for January 19, 2023

This week on Open Sources Guelph it’s Blue Thursday, the saddest Thursday of the week. To celebrate, we’re going to talk about the Code Blue in our healthcare system that Ontario’s inglorious premier thinks he’s solved, and then we’re going to talk about some issues around Toronto’s men and women in blue, the members of its police service. But it’s not all depressing because we’ve brought in an old friend to talk about all the math city council will be doing next week! Continue reading “Open Sources (Ep. #410) Show Notes for January 19, 2023”

Open Sources (Ep. #388) Show Notes for August 18, 2022

This week on Open Sources Guelph, we’re back! After enjoying some bee-free time outdoors, we’re back in our respective bunkers and ready to get down to business as unusual. To wit, Ontario’s premier had some bee troubles to go with all the other troubles he’s bee’n facing lately, which are nothing compared to the troubles facing a certain Florida man. What else? How about a talk with a doctor *and* a politician? Continue reading “Open Sources (Ep. #388) Show Notes for August 18, 2022”

Open Sources (Ep. #387) Show Notes for July 28, 2022

This week on Open Sources Guelph, we’re thinking about summer vacation.* Before we take a couple of weeks off though, we’ve got a few news items to discuss and an interview to do. In the first half of the show, we will catch up with the battle for Ukraine, and the battle against conspiracy believers right here at home. In the second half, a discussion about healthcare issues with someone who’s in the business. Continue reading “Open Sources (Ep. #387) Show Notes for July 28, 2022”

Open Sources (Ep. #385) Show Notes for July 14, 2022

This week on Open Sources Guelph, we’re throwing ourselves out of the party. It’s a busy week for Conservative leadership drama between recent developments here in Canada, and on the other side of the pond in the United Kingdom. In between all this drama, we will talk about the challenges facing our healthcare system, and that thing that happened last Friday, which reminded everyone that we’re much more connected online than we think… Continue reading “Open Sources (Ep. #385) Show Notes for July 14, 2022”

Open Sources Show Notes for October 29, 2020

This week on Open Sources Guelph is another one of those weeks where there’s almost too much news, and it’s not all related to the U.S. Presidential Election, which is definitely one of our topics for this show. Along with that, we will also talk about the four (!) elections we had in Canada this week, the continuing failures of Reconciliation in Caledonia, and labour strife in Alberta in their… healthcare sector?! Continue reading “Open Sources Show Notes for October 29, 2020”
